The Opportunity: Finance Operations & Strategy
As a Finance Operations & Strategy Analyst at Flip, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our financial and operational strategy. Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Business Officer and the broader Finance team, you will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis to drive data-driven decision-making across the company. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically-minded finance & ops professional to make an impact on our fast-growing company. The role is office-based in Los Angeles (El Segundo) with a start date as early as possible.

What You’ll Do

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Build and maintain detailed financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Operational Analysis & Efficiency: Partner with team leaders to analyze financial and operational metrics to identify efficiencies, enhance performance, and support business growth.
  • Strategic Planning & Decision Support: Provide financial and strategic analysis for new initiatives, market expansions, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
  • Investor Relations: Support investor relations through the preparation of materials for board meetings, investor updates, and fundraising efforts.
  • Special Projects & Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and ad hoc financial assessments to assess new business opportunities.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ Years of Experience: At least 3 years in investment banking, with private equity (PE) or venture capital (VC) experience as a strong plus.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with financial planning tools and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented, with a track record of accuracy and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Self-Starter with Drive: A proactive approach with the ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
