Our innovative approach combines advanced robotics and data analytics to revolutionize beekeeping practices and ensure the well-being of honeybee colonies. We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate individual to join our team as the Head of Beekeeping. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of our beekeeping operations, lead a team of skilled beekeepers, and drive the success of our innovative beekeeping technologies.

Scope: Full time

Location: Offices are located in San Ramon, travel across the state and country is required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Beewise's beekeeping professional services, overseeing all beekeeping operations in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and execute the annual, monthly, and weekly work plans for the beekeeping team, focusing on existing beehives' management and the expansion and improvement of the apiary, aligned with company goals.
• Implement optimal operational tools for handling beehives and facilities, leading improvement processes, and adapting beekeeping routines in the field.
• Prepare and manage the budget for beekeeping activities, ensuring alignment with company goals and effective resource allocation throughout the seasons.
• Liaise with the company’s customers, ensuring high level satisfaction and addressing any customer concerns or issues.
• Facilitate ongoing communication with the Product, Research, and Development departments, effectively conveying operational needs and requirements to the entire company. Lead improvements and changes in the Product and Research departments based on operational feedback.
• Lead and mentor the beekeeping team in the operations department, defining recruitment and retention targets, as well as professional development goals.

• Extensive experience in beekeeping operations management, demonstrating a strong understanding of best practices and industry standards.

• Proven leadership skills, with experience in leading and motivating teams.

• Excellent organizational and planning abilities, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal departments, and team members.

• Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles related to beekeeping operations.

• Passion for sustainable beekeeping practices and a commitment to the well-being of honeybee colonies.

• Willingness to travel upon need.
