Description
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and hands-on Field Technician to join our Operations
team and support the deployment, maintenance, and repair of advanced beekeeping and
agri-tech systems.
This is a highly hands-on, field-based role. Success in this position requires reliability,
persistence, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to work outdoors in agricultural
environments throughout the year. While the systems you will support are technologically
advanced, this role is focused on field execution, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational
excellence rather than engineering design or product development.
You will work directly in orchards, fields, and bee pastures, helping ensure that our systems
operate safely, efficiently, and reliably throughout the season.
What You'll Do
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on hive systems and related field equipment.
- Apply Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and implement approved field modifications and upgrades.
- Install, deploy, and commission systems in agricultural environments.
- Use technician applications and ticketing systems to receive assignments, document work performed, and report task completion.
- Perform electrical and mechanical adjustments, component replacements, and field assembly activities.
- Collaborate closely with field teammates and engineering teams, providing clear and timely feedback from the field.
- Maintain equipment in a safe, clean, and professional condition.
- Work primarily in the Merced area, with occasional travel for periods of 2–4 weeks during peak seasons.

- Comfortable using mobile applications, ticketing systems, and reporting tools.
- Able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather and agricultural conditions.
- Comfortable working around bees and in agricultural environments.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Based in the Merced area and willing to travel for up to 2-8 weeks at a time, as needed, during certain seasons.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience installing, maintaining, or servicing automated or electromechanical equipment.
- Experience working with agricultural equipment, machinery, or field operations.
- Familiarity with beekeeping environments.
- Experience in a fast-paced field service or operations organization.
