Description
The Quality Technician ensures that all products, from raw materials to final assemblies, adhere to internal specifications and AS9100 requirements. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full traceability, and preventing the escape of non-conforming products.
Key Responsibilities
Incoming Inspection and Supplier Quality
- Validation of Part Numbers and Revisions against Purchase Orders. Perform technical reviews of COC/COT (Certificates of Conformity) and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
- Execution of tiered inspection levels involving visual, dimensional (critical characteristics), and functional testing.
- Management of the Non-Conformance (NC) process, including identification, segregation, and disposition of scrap or rework to prevent unintended use.
In-Process Quality Assurance
- Monitoring the calibration status of Monitoring and Measuring Equipment to ensure data validity.
- Systematic sampling across subassembly, chassis, wiring, and system integration stages to verify process compliance.
- Ensuring that all "Special Processes" are performed by qualified personnel according to approved instructions.
Final Inspection & Release
- Final sampling of finished goods to verify they meet all customer and regulatory requirements.
- Review of the production process records to ensure 100% traceability and that all previous operations were completed and signed off.
AS9100 Specific Compliance
- Screening incoming materials to mitigate the risk of counterfeit parts.
- Monitoring production areas for Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention and removal during assembly and packaging.
- Participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for non-conformances and assisting in the implementation of Corrective Actions (CAPA).
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Practical Engineer or Technical Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial), Quality Assurance, or a related technical field- Mandatory.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Engineering or Technology Management-Advantage.
- IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 certification (for wiring and PCBA inspection)
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience specifically in Quality.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, including assemblies, wiring, and electronics.

- Detail Oriented: High attention to detail with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Process Analysis: Ability to analyse workflows, identify weaknesses, and detect defects.
- Systems Literacy: Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
